what are we, or maybe is just me seeking for?

for my further education, i m taking a ptptn loan. no big deal.
therefore i m aiming for first class degree so it can actually be converted into scholarship.
my dad is going to retire soon. so he was like telling my sister 'mei you have to apply for loan to continue your studies.'

i didnt expect tht later on that night she s telling me 'jie actually we are quite poor, have to apply for loan to study in uni'.

i was kind of shock. the concept of she thinking our family is poor cause we have to apply for loan for studies. since the day i was born i have never have the feeling that 'oh my family is poor'.yes i ve never tried baskin robin before, our family do not have any branded goods, the only renovation we did for our house is just change the normal gate to auto gate and yes the first time i took a plane is when i was nineteen.clothes? either from neighbours, relatives, bought during warehouse sales or from second hand shop. most of my tops costs five ringgit to fifteen ringgit.latest shoes? discounted flats from bonita ten ringgit and sport shoes from power eighteen ringgit.

and later on she continue with saying her friends who are claimed to be poorer than her in way tht tht parents keep saying they have no choice but send her to form six instead of other pre u dlnt even need to take loan from the goverment.

yea, those poor kids.

these 'omg i m so poor'phenomena can b seen since primary school. years ago only the family with low income have the benefit of loaning textbooks from government. there are quite a few from my class did so.they stayed at the nearby low cost flat. but well they have astro. psp.ps three, having meals at somewhere not so economic and having bra
nded stuff is sonething which is normal in their family. yet, they claimed to be poor.

its either the family do not have proper financial management, knowing the need to earn and save not just spend or the parents provide fake copy of financial evidence. yes they rather spend on entertainment and luxuries but not education.

to some of you, this might just sounded 'oh this girl is just ranting, jealous of other people's life'.to me, this is something that adults have to be wworried about.i read from the newspaper saying tht childern in china, the things that they wanted before starting uni life is i phone, i pad and i pod.if not they will feel left out or being looked down by others. i was like wth??? uni students???is it even necessary to have it??? will it actually make you a better person after having all those things/

and one more thing which i cant stand is the toddler will be labelled, or praised as clever and bright if he or her knows haw to play games using i pad wtf

the mind set. we are moving towards civillisation or just going backwards?

hopefully in the future , especially after i have my own family i will not be the type of 'adults' that i despise during these days. craving and dying for things that we do not actually need it to sustain a good life.

time for self reflection.
