Nowadays it seems like leng lui=female and leng zai=male. Anyone will call you handsome/pretty/hot now matter whether they really meant it or not. Compliments supposed to make people feel good, feel encouraged however being called so doesn't brings any of the effect. To be honest, I wasn't originated from the popular/good-looking bunch of people, few years back if anyone called me that (for instance pretty/leng lui) I felt that it's sarcasm although that person was just, you know, leng lui=miss/cik, that kind of thing, They meant no offense/sarcasm, just a term that people used on female. If think about it, having good-looks is not because of a person's hardwork perhaps except for cases such working your ass off getting money for plastic surgery/ good skills on using make up/ other possible reasons lol. I admit that knowing how to make up is quite important. (It's one of my new year resolution for this year! omg and now its end of Oct. crap hahaha) At the same time, it is funny(?) that we are taught that 'putting up make up on certain occasions=act of politeness' that kind of thing where there's actually much more etiquette that we have to emphasis on. If really were to spend on things that makes us looks better physically, I rather spend on skin care+balanced and nutritious food+exercise related items, for make up perhaps just go for the basics: foundation, eye liner, mascara and lipstick, maybe blusher if its necessary. At this age, my aim is to improve myself until the level of which me myself and the others see me as someone who's an elegant lady who's wise, charismatic and attractive. Working towards it! :)
